Another aspect of this economic "cleansing" pertaining to this Christian gifting approach is to consider refraining from investing in /owning companies which engage in, promote and provide products & services which run contrary to God's instruction, laws and principles.
Well Kept Secret: Simply owning index and mutual funds can be very problematic from an ethical Christian perspective!
As stewards of I AM, how can investments held in unethical companies- in good conscience- be justified? Ignorance of how a company's revenue is derived may not be a valid excuse, in God's eyes. Recent aggressive actions against Christians can be identified and unfortunately, many Christian own the very stocks of publically-held companies engaging in counter-Christian efforts, to the delight of "the deceiver".
One of the most widely held stocks via index funds and mutual funds- by Christians & non-Christians alike- is Microsoft, ticker MSFT. A simple Brave AI search reveals this:
"Recent controversies highlight Microsoft's efforts to enforce non-discrimination policies that have occasionally clashed with the religious views of conservative Christian organizations. In late 2025, the Florida Attorney General accused Microsoft of discriminating against faith-based groups, including Christian schools and pro-life pregnancy resource centers, by denying them nonprofit discounts based on their hiring practices or lack of "full women's health services."
"In November 2025, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier initiated a formal inquiry into Microsoft, accusing the company of religious discrimination against faith-based nonprofit organizations. The case centers on Microsoft’s denial of nonprofit discounts to Christian schools, churches, and pro-life pregnancy resource centers, which the Attorney General claims violates Florida’s Civil Rights Act. Key Allegations: Microsoft’s nonprofit program requires organizations to attest to an anti-discrimination policy but exempts religious groups under the premise of legal accommodations. Despite this, Uthmeier asserts that Microsoft applied a "tacit religious or ideological litmus test", denying access to groups based on their religious beliefs or opposition to abortion. Some pregnancy centers were rejected for not offering “full women’s health services,” interpreted as a euphemism for abortion services, which the AG argues is discriminatory."
